Are you new to chiropractic? Even if you have seen a chiropractor before, you may have questions about our office or our care. Below, you can read through some of the most common questions our patients ask us.

Will I have to continue care forever once I start?

Just like eating well or exercising, chiropractic is part of a healthy lifestyle. We encourage all of our patients to continue with wellness care.

Does the adjustment hurt?

No. You may notice that you’re sore afterward. If you’ve had a problem for years, making corrections to that can cause soreness.

Can chiropractic cure everything?

No. Chiropractic isn’t a cure, but it certainly can help an array of concerns.

Why should I bring my child in?

During the birthing process, a newborn has 80 pounds of pressure put on their cervical spine. We like to say, “As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.” In the first year of life, your child’s nervous system will double in size. It’s vital that everything is moving correctly and aligned so that they grow up with great health.

Can chiropractic help with colic?

Often, colicky babies have a misalignment in their upper neck. This misalignment puts pressure on the brain stem and may prevent the eustachian tube from draining as it should. They might also be unable to turn their head. By correcting the misalignment, you may see a relief of their symptoms.

Does insurance cover chiropractic?

Yes, and we are in-network providers with nearly all plans.

Do I need a referral from my medical doctor?

No, but we will be happy to work with your GP or any specialists that you see.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

Usually, we do not adjust on the first visit. Why? Because we want to take our time to study your examination results and know exactly how best to care for you.

Will you suggest exercises or other things I can do to help my healing?

Absolutely. Chiropractors are board-certified physiotherapists, so we’re experts in suggesting exercises that you can do.

I’ve had back surgery. Can I still see a chiropractor?

Yes. We have even seen people who have had spinal fusions or scoliosis rods and can adjust around the area of concern.
